Rearranging feels so good!

I am back in the store today after my little break this weekend and I love the decorated changes made by erin over the weekend!  We have added two new dress forms to the store fixtures and use one for jewelry and the other for an outfit! I was out and about on Friday and found them at a home goods store and they seem to bring inspiration to both e and I! Thanks to Mrs. Meharg for taking the time to pick them up for us on Saturday with me being away and erin covering the store.  It’s wonderful how two simple little additions can make the store feel fresh and new!  I love coming back from my little trip to seeing the changes that erin had made to the set up of the inventory.  That is something I think both she and really appreciate about having each other.  When we each get a break to be away from the store, it makes us both super jazzed about doing cool things to the look of the store and reordering.  I love the flow that was created this weekend in Wishlist.  It feels fresh and crisp and clean!  Just like Spring!!

We’ve got a new logo!  Big thanks to Rachel Herman for designing it for us!  Melissa and I love the way it turned out.  I spent the morning updating our Facebook, Twitter and blog site with the new look. What do you think?

P.S.  Speaking of official, I’m a real, live “Cover Model”!  Check out the newest issue of Metal Clay Artist Magazine (available at Wishlist) for yours truly!

I'm a model, ya know what I mean?

A Sale and a Tutorial!

Melissa and I spent some time yesterday looking at scores of new dresses and tops to bring into the shop.  With all this nice weather, it’s tempting to go full-summer wear, but I think we’ve got a bit of spring left.  And who knows, it may even get chilly again!  Don’t forget, our cute fleece coats, scarves, gloves, head/arm/leg warmers are all on sale!  It’s the Heat Wave Sale!  30% off our cold weather gear.

In other exciting news, I had a tutorial featured as a “guest blog” on Tonya Davidson‘s website.  Tonya is the owner of Whole Lotta Whimsey, one of my favorite shops for all things metal clay.  She is also the creator of the Artful Success Program, which I am currently enrolled in as a way to grow my jewelry craft. I am excited to continue to evolve as an artist and bring even more unique and handcrafted jewelry to Wishlist!

If you’d like to read my tutorial, please click here.  And if you’d like to get some great deals on winter wear, please come HERE, to Wishlist, 53 Albany St, Cazenovia NY!

Here in Cazenovia!

Hi all… Melissa here! erin and I are swapping places this week… Last Saturday I was in Vermont for a two day get away with my husband, enjoying the weather and the amazing scenery and erin was working in the store.  Well today the roles have changed.  erin is off learning to work with sterling clay in Vermont; “living the dream”, while I am working in the store.  Today has been such an amazing day actually.  I have had some of the nicest people shopping today.  Cazenovia is starting to come alive today… people out and about and ready for spring!  This week we are supposed to hit the mid to upper 60’s!  I am so excited for this for many reasons.  I can’t wait to walk outside and smell the fresh blooming flowers and hear the chirping of the birds.  As well as see the people walking about on main street!  Spring time means parties too!  We love booking parties!  Parties are booked by the hour and can be during store hours or after store hours.  We host anything for the girls night out to the kiddos’ birthday party.  There is a hourly rate of $30.00 per hour and the cost of the materials.  You get to work with erin the amazing in house jeweler as well! Don’t forget about our classes too!  Either a private or group, whether it’s working with PMC or beads… we offer it!  So let the sun shine in Cazenovia!  Cause we can’t wait to have the doors and windows open and enjoy the nice weather!

Coming soon to Wishlist in Cazenovia NY!

Supporting Local

There is just something about doing business locally.  Supporting your fellow neighbor in their business endeavors.  I was really excited to meet Mary Carlic the owner and creator of The Wren’s Den.  The Wren’s Den makes handcrafted soaps that smell delicious and magical at the same time.  I was fortunate enough to meet Mary when she came in with her children to shop during February break and after chatting for a few minutes I was pleased to hear that she too was a small business woman in the area.  She introduced me to the products that she sells and I was immediately in love with them all!  The scents of spring, clean and brisk  caught my attention!  I learned that Mary with the help of her family makes these enticing products in her own home and sells them at shows as well as having them in a various selection of stores on the west side of Syracuse.   I am super impressed with the attention to detail Mary has put into her product and that she even uses a local artist for the drawings on her labels.  Doing business with local vendors is not only convenient it’s about building lasting relationships that will lead to a network that is wide open for the future.  We love that on Fridays starting in April, we will have locally grown and produced products for sampling such as Meadowood Farms’ cheeses.  I am proud to be a part of these community and proud to offer as much as we can from local vendors.  Remember my very own partner is a local vendor with her one of a kind jewelry!  So stop by and enjoy the local sampling’s from the surrounding community!
